Salt Lake County Youth Hockey is a recreation level league program for boys and girls ages 6-14. The program philosophy is to promote the ideals of fair play, sportsmanship, cooperation, teamwork, and physical fitness. FUN is the primary goal of the program, while at the same time encouraging the skill development of all players. Equal ice time and equal opportunity to play for all players are the cornerstones of the program. The program is sanctioned by USA Hockey.
The regular season of the program runs from mid-September until early April. Each team has generally one game and one practice per week. The program is "home arena based" which means all your team's practices and roughly half your team's games are at a home rink. The other half of your games are played as road games at the other two County ice facilities. You may choose any of the three County ice facilities as a home rink. There is also a Spring Skills Clinic Program and a 3 on 3 League Program that operate in spring and summer respectively.
The Salt Lake County Youth Hockey League program is intended for players with at least one season of previous ice hockey experience. Beginning level players should first attend the Salt Lake County Youth Hockey Start Smart Program which is conducted at each of the three County Ice facilities.
