Salt Lake County Youth Hockey is a recreation level youth hockey program for boys and girls ages 6-15.  The program operates at all 3 Salt Lake County ice rink facilities, with each facility running its own branch of the program.

At registration, players will select one of the three facilities as their home rink.  All team practices will take place at the home rink.  Each team will play approximately half their games at their home rink, and the other half at the other 2 rinks against teams based at those facilities.  Each team will generally have 1 practice and 1 game  per week.

The philosophy of the program is to promote the ideals of fair play, sportsmanship, cooperation, teamwork and physical fitness.  FUN is the primary goal of the program, while at the same time encouraging the skill development of all players.  Equal ice time and equal opportunity to play are the cornerstones of the program.

The desire to win often produces a style of play contrary to the principals of sportsmanship and fair play.  While winning is certainly a consideration, it is not the only consideration, nor is it the most important consideration.  Salt Lake County Recreation will not tolerate such a style that ignores sportsmanship, fair play, and equal ice time.  REMEMBER, IT'S ONLY A GAME.
