Mission Statement
The Salt Lake County Select Team program is designed to offer the participants of Salt Lake County Youth Hockey an in-state competitive playing environment that further develops skills and enjoyment of the game. A primary goal of the County Select Program is to develop the players' skill level to the extent that he/she is prepared to advance to the next level of play.
Select Team Overview
Salt Lake County Youth Hockey intends to field one team in the Squirt, Pee-Wee, and Bantam age divisions. In short, the Select Team program is offered as a more competitive playing opportunity for current SLCYH members. We anticipate that the best "house" players in each division will comprise these teams. These players and parents will represent Salt Lake County Youth Hockey throughout the State. These players will receive top quality coaching in a "full" ice practice environment and very challenging, competitive style games. The Select Program is for players who are serious about their skill development, have a commitment to hockey, and have the desire to advance to higher levels of play.
For the 2006-07 season Salt Lake County will be participating in the Utah Competitive Youth Hockey League (UCYHL). This league is comprised of teams that represent other "house/recreational" or competitive travel "B" level hockey programs throughout the State of Utah. All UCYHL games will be played in the State of Utah.
